Цитата:
"I met Flery in America, to me she is the greatest singer I met in my life. The greatest figure of singing that I met. "
Manos Hadjidakis.
I will always remember this meeting with Flery, the Nightingale of moonlight, she was called later, the muse of Manos Hadjidakis, one of the greatest singers in Greece that her imaginary presence and voice will accompany us and we will intoxicate us forever.
Lambros Mitropoulos
...

Flery Dadonaki (her real name was Eleftheria Papadadonaki) was born in Athens in 1937 (according to other references in Crete) and since her childhood she occupied herself with the arts and especially with acting, which is probably due to the fact that her father was a director, actor and film producer. When she grew up, she went to the U.S., where she studied History and Literature and soon began an acting career, participating in shows in New York. Her role as a singer is born through random opportunities by singing folk songs for her friends.
Gradually this role becomes dominant and she began to appear in music halls, with a wide repertoire that included folk music of Greece, Spain and even Brazil. In 1965 her first album titled «Fleury: The isles of Greece», that includes a diverse repertoire of popular songs of Apostolos Kaldaras, brazilian bossa nova and three pieces of the young Mikis Theodorakis.
In early 1970, Manos Hadjidakis and his "muse" return to Greece. In 1972, a pivotal year in her career, the most important event is the publication of the album Magnus Eroticos ("The Great Erotic"). Dimitris Psarianos is involved in the production, that includes ancient and modern Greek poetry with central theme love. At the end of that year, Flery records again, this time the "Captain - Mihalis" by Hadjidakis, while participating in the album "Twelve songs by George Potamianos", a Greek shipowner, with whom she had a great friendship from the time she was in the U.S.
A period of subdued artistic creation follows, she participates in some movies, while she also met the composer Christos Leontis. The cooperation between them is held up and Flery enters a period of internal search and is "lost in the paths of her mind" as she declares in public. She returns to the limelight in 1984, performing three songs on the first disk of Elias Liougos titled "Night test." She begins her appearances in music venues "Tipoukeitos”,”Cafe - theater" and the Tower of Athens.
Her last record appearance takes place in 1986, when she sings the "Song of the Night" in the disk "Concrete Trains" of the music band "Termites". In 1985, a concert at the Roman Agora, is her last appearance on stage. She gets frightened by the crowd and leaves the stage, but eventually returns and is deified for her interpretation.
Since then she withdraws from the limelight and considers her relationship with the song finished. She remains secluded with her mother and her daughter Zoe, and many artists try to reach her in vain in order to achieve her recurrence. The fate hits her hard. Alienated with her private demons taking gigantic proportions, she becomes ill from cancer.
She died on July 18, 1998, on a bed of the Metaxa Hospital, devasted and confused. Her tomb lies in the cemetery of Peania, next to Manos Hadjidakis, with the work of whom she was identified more than any other artist.
